Timpanogos Cave National Monument

From Timpanogos Cave National Monument's Facebook page:

Looking for something to do this weekend? (June 27-29) Our free evening programs are "Camping 101" on Friday at 7pm (learn camping tips and tricks) and "Music Through the Ages" on Saturday at 7pm (a chance to sing some campfire songs and enjoy another evening 'round the campfire). Other programs this weekend include Friday's Boy Scout Geology merit badge at 4pm, Saturday's Junior Ranger program with Smokey Bear at 10am at our visitor center, Saturday's nature walk at Cascade Springs on at 11am, Sunday's Hike with a Ranger up the cave trail at 11am, and our daily deck talks at 4pm. Hope to see you there!

Be aware there is a $6 fee for driving the Alpine Loop if you plan on going anywhere other than the national monument.  There are also fees for the cave tours.

They also offer weekly programs geared toward helping Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts earn merit badges and pass off requirements and electives. These are open to the public, even if you are not a part of the BSA. See the above links for details.

America's Pastime

Utah is home to three minor league baseball teams, with professional baseball history going back as far as 1901.

The closest team is the Orem Owlz. They are a rookie affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. They play at Brent Brown Ballpark on the UVU campus.

The next closest team is the Salt Lake Bees. They are the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. This level is one step below Major League Baseball. Correspondingly, the stadium is larger and tickets are more expensive, but the games are played at a higher level.

Smith's Ballpark is located at 77 West 1300 South in Salt Lake City. A convenient way to get there is by taking Frontrunner to the "Murray Central" transfer station and then taking the UTA Trax red line or blue line (north) to "Ballpark" station.

Finally, the Ogden Raptors, a rookie affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, play at Lindquist Field in downtown Ogden - named the "best view" in baseball. They play the Owlz several times each season.

The rookie league teams have schedules lasting from mid-June to early September. The Bees' season mostly mirrors that of MLB, from early April to mid-September. See their team websites for details.
